Strategic Plan Updated

The TBOR board and committee members met to update the strategic plan. The planning session was very productive and many new ideas were generated. The focus for TBOR in 2014 is Member Benefits and Community Contributions & Awareness. Thank you to all who attended the session. The updated plan will be available at www.tbor.org in March.

Wyoming Association of REALTORS® Legislative Meetings

The legislative meetings were held February 17-19 in Cheyenne, WY. Ron Adams, Ray Elser, Devon Viehman, Nancy Clancy and Jocelyn Emery attended. This was a budget session and the House had over 60 budget amendments to review. 26 bills were not heard because they had to finish the budget and ran out of time. A bill to repeal restrictions on state chartered banks, so they are on an even playing field with federal banks, passed the house and is still alive in the senate. A bill currently being considered is SF0075, which tells the EPA/Federal Agencies that Wyoming will not recognize their executive findings in certain instances and authorizes the Attorney General to take whatever actions necessary to challenge the EPA actions.

Western Mountain Resort Alliance

The group met in Park City to discuss the needs of members and how to add value to the newsletters and services provided. We also had a panel discussion on the current states of our markets in front of the Park City Board of REALTORS®. Because we know that resort buyers tend to shop other mountain towns, the information that we share with one another is helpful in being educated in front of our buyers and staying in touch with issues that affect all of us. Our markets are unique and the collaboration between boards is something that benefits us all. The  next panel discussion will be held in Jackson in 2015. All TBOR members will be invited to attend.
